Over 150,000 people took to the streets of Paris on May 1st for ‘May Day’. This is a day of demonstrations and marches where trade unions gather to defend workers rights.

The demonstration in Paris usually starts peaceful at Place de la Republique with many trade unions and political parties hosting their own pop up stands, but clashes with the police toward the end of the day at Place de la Nation is almost a guarantee due to hostility between more extreme groups like ANTIFA and the French Police.
